Our Music Staff

Mrs. Hendrickson teaches Kindergarten music at Timber Ridge and Wallace Elementary. She has been a teacher in Johnston for the past 7 years. She is a graduate of Evangel University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in voice and is currently working on obtaining her Master’s in Education from Drake University. She has received her Level I certification in both Orff and Kodaly. Mrs. Hendrickson is very active in her church’s music department, both with adults and children. She also teaches voice lessons to middle and high school students. Mrs. Hendrickson is married to Brett, her husband of 14 years, and has three children, Drew, Joshua, and Lauren. (All three of her children attend or have attended Timber Ridge.) Mrs. Miller teaches 1st-5th grade music at Timber Ridge. She has taught in the district for 10 years. She holds a Bachelor's in Music Education degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She is certified in Level I and II in Orff music methods and completed all 3 levels in Kodaly music methods and received her Mastery certification. Mrs. Miller is a director for the Heartland Youth Choir as well as their Summer Songs Camp. She has conducted several church handbell, brass and vocal choirs, both adult and children. She has also presented at Iowa Choral Directors Elementary Workshops. She lives in Johnston with her husband Dean and their three children Nicholas, Brandon, and Caitlin. Mr. Morgan teaches 5th grade band at both Timber Ridge and Horizon Elementary. He has taught in the district for the past 7 years. Mr. Morgan is graduate of Simpson College, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Iowa State University. He is also an active church musician and currently holds the position as the organist at Grace United Methodist church. He lives in Indianola with wife Dawn, their fourth grader, Emily, and 3 year old twins- Brett and Kelly, and baby Molly.
